My first Norwegian Language Class!

Hei alle!

This morning I got my first look into what my Norwegian language classes will be like over the next few semesters. Even before I landed in Norway, I knew I wanted to learn the language; granted some of the Norwegians I’ve met here speak better English than I do, but at the end of the day, if I decide to live in a country for at least a few months, I’m going to put the effort in learning its language just like some people put the effort in speaking English to me in my first few weeks here.

I’m really excited to be able to understand some of the conversations that happen around me and be able to respond to people in the stores. While rumor has it that learning Norwegian shouldn’t be tough to someone who speaks German, my biggest worry is getting those sounds right and being able to understand the different dialects that people speak.

Will keep you updated on my progress, but for now I’ll leave you with my first Norwegian essay (of hopefully many more to come!)

Cheers!
